2010 Champagne Vilmart ‘Grande Cellier d’Or’ – case of 6

$840.00 $714.00

Chardonnay (80% ) Pinot Noir (20%).

A fine champagne aged for 10 months in oak barrels with no malolactic fermentation. The nose is fresh, complex and intense, with melted butter, candied pineapple, dried fruit, pralines and mineral notes. The wine continues to evolve in the glass with aromas of cinnamon and gingerbread – a very high class nose, distinguished and rare. The palate is lively and invigorating. The imperceptible dosage and crisp acidity of the wine gives a sharpness, which is balanced by the fine bubbles. The finish is very long and concludes with grapefruit and pralines.

Price is for 6 bottles.

Vilmart: The champagne house is now recognised worldwide as the rising star amongst the small houses. Founded in 1890, this family-owned estate remains faithful to tradition and nature and guarantees the finest quality by following three principles – grapes come exclusively from their own 1st Cru vineyards; a strong respect for “terroir” with traditional soil management and no chemicals fertilizer; and fermentation and ageing of the wines in oak casks prior to “assemblage”. Described by Tom Stevenson MW as being the ‘greatest grower Champagne I know’ with the ‘range beginning at brilliant and just keeps getting better.”
